Yesterday around 25 staff members took part in the annual staff picnic, which this year was held at Gopna Beach in the morning and Zanner Beach in the afternoon. We left Bhavnagar at around 8am to start the two-hour journey which we made using the Shaishav bus. August is a particularly holy month for temples devoted to Lord Shiva, and so Gopna beach (with a large temple) was very busy, with devotees taking part in various religious ceremonies.
We reached the quieter Zanner beach in the afternoon and there was some serious adventuring to be had! As the tide was out, there were plenty of rock pools around in which to find small sea creatures and some good trekking to be done along the shoreline.
Fortunately it didn’t rain, although some staff members (especially this one) suffered in the humidity and sunlight leading to some embarrassingly red faces by the end of the day!
